Hi All.
I have an odd socket that I cannot identify or figure the reason for it's design.
It is 3/8 drive with a 3/4 hex on the driven end. The socket size is 1 1/16" for the first 3/8" of depth and then reduces to 1" for the next 3/8" in depth.
The socket is stamped " C.A. SUS38 JAPAN 1 - 1 1/16 ".
The 1" size would be odd to use as it would not fully engage a nut or bolt located flush to a surface.
Nice quality & would like to know the company that made it. All input enjoyed & thanks in advance.

Believe this is for oil sending units. I’ve got a similar one with a different brand and one that is longer. They are designed for GM oil sending units and maybe other brands too. At least that’s what I believe and they fit perfectly on. When I bought one a few years ago at Advance Auto that’s what it was labeled as.

^ yes. Oil Pressure Sending Unit socket. Indestro part number was 2738, as I recall. Most every tool manufacturer made one. Fairly useless in the current market unless you're working on older vehicles.
Last time we pulled one out here was on a 1995 Jeep 6 cylinder.

Thanks all. That was quick.
If anyone recognizes the manufacturer please chime in.
The hex option for a wrench makes sense if the sensor is tight against a firewall or something.

They are notorious for leaking on jeeps. I keep the socket and a spare sensor under the back seat of my 94
