oil heater question

ok my dad wants to give me a 2yr old oil fired base board heater for my new garage, my question is if i dont have water out there and i load the system with anti freeze how long will it take (running it) before i have to add more water/anti freeze from evaporation? in homes it hooked to a dedicated water line, i just wanna use this only when im out there not all the time,thanks.

its same as gas unit just burns heating oil instead of natural gas, no pics yet still in rental property converting over for easy rental. pita with tenents filling oil tank.

Typically most systems are closed systems just like your car. So the need to add water/antifreeze would only arise if you had a leak or a pop-off opened.

my gas heater has a fill valve on it it adds water as needed other wise it gets noisy from air. just figured id ask if there are and heating guys out there that would know how long it could run with out adding and water ect.
