I picked up this tool cart along with a Dayton machinist’s box this weekend with the intention to restore and flip as I do with several items but once I got eyes on it I could tell the cart was a Craftsman so I’m going to keep the cart. The previous owner coated everything in aluminum paint years ago so I couldn’t tell it was a Craftsman in the pictures.
I started breaking down all the coats of paint this poor ******* had on it today so I’ll be ready to prime and paint next week. Two questions, what primer would you all suggest for this cart? Also didn’t Craftsman use an enamel of some sort on the carts from around this era or no? I thought I remembered reading that somewhere months back. I’m going to be spraying it with my little gravity fed sprayer bc it’s helped make several old pieces look great over the years.
