Old Delco Motor Question

Not sure if there are any old motor experts here but if there are can I ask an old Delco motor one? Get back. Wondering if I found anything decent or not....

K here are some pix. I think it may be tractor related I do not know. Tag says delco motor model A7370 serial B-47 1/4 HP 1 phase 60 cycles 1725 RPM 115 volts 5.0 Amp.... Now is this an electric motor? Any answers may help. Any value? The shaft turns great... What could it have come off of? Etc etc.

just a guess but i'll go with old washing machine. Is that a pump on one end ? those other things on each end are solenoids

so obviously an electric motor then. its heavy as can be. If I took out the motor itself and sold it independently I wonder what its worth.

Someone who's restoring a vintage washing machine may be interested, but otherwise I don't think it has much collector value - sure it's old, but it's also just a 1/4 hp motor.

so you agree stuart that it is an old washing machine motor? Would you break it down and just sell the motor alone?

The way the shafts are configured on purpose built motors like that makes them just about worthless for anything else. Only value it has is to someone who wants to restore/repair an old washing machine.

Looks like it had a speed reducer which might e handy for metal related work.

That gear box on the end is not just a speed reducer it probably powers the agitation with a back and forth action if the motor spins one direction and spins the tub and pumps water when spinning the other way. Junk unless you need one for a 50-60 year old washer.

any idea on the price I should put on it? Shipping would cost a ton. Its heavy. Probably better to junk it?

Good point about the agitator. Wasn't even thinking about that.
