Too funny! I have 1/2" & 3/8" Big Dawgs en route too!

Our Huskys are clearly of the same vintage.

The big dawgs feel great. I think they will work out just fine, hope you like them as much as I do already.

I notice your 3/8 husky has the wrap around steel band, not the snap ring. That makes it older than mine. My 1/2 has the wrap around, but my 3/8 has snap ring, so it must be from the mid 70's thus newer than yours.

The 3/8 and the 1/2 are two of a small set of survivors from a garage fire I had in 84. The rest of my tools died that day.

The Huskys were 'extra' ratchets in the bottom drawer of a Snap-On box.
That drawer had all the survivors in it.

They just got hot enough to cook the grease.

I tossed the two ratchets, and some other cooked tools in a junk box for the intervening years, only got them out fairly recently and cleaned them up.

Yes, I noticed that. I would have thought the snap-ring was an older model... It's certainly easier to work with than that blued spring steel thing!

You have my deepest condolences. I can only imagine what treasures were lost if those lovely Huskys were your extras...

I had that 1/2" ratchet. It was my grandfathers. Damned if I can figure out what happened to it.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but was there any solution to finding a rebuild kit for a circlip-style CB-45?

No original rebuild kits available unless you find some NOS somewhere. The insides from a Husky or New Britain of similar design should work but you would have to scrounge one from a flea market or ebay.

I guess it's a possibility that another round head design internals would work but I would say chances are slim to none.

Seriously, if it were me and that ratchet ever broke, I would just hang on to it any comb the fleamarkets and the garage sales and look for a parts donor. Please don't trade it in on a new ratchet from Husky at HD. You can pick those up for under $20 all day. But when your original USA-made Husky is gone, it's gone forever. That's just my opinion, though, of course.

^^^This^^^, hell post a picture the ratchet/head. I'll keep an open eye out for one.
