I believe this is the original 5449 design. The date code is 9F and I believe it to date to 1939. It is marked "Made in USA" with a downward pointing triangle. This one has a removable (the original) drive plug. It works remarkably well and I would have no issues using it.
The selector switch has been repaired and there are detailed images showing that repair. This one is different because of the drive plug, the Made in USA and date code markings are on the bottom of the handle and the detent ball in the selector switch.
