I have an area about 5x6 that has outdoor carpet on it. Im wanting to tile this landing and as bad as I want to just lay the thinset right over the carpet I doubt that would be a good idea. How can I get this stuff off? Its down really good, especially for being out in the weather, There is not any loose places to start to try and rip it up. Do I need to grind it off or what?

I am in for the same project, but much bigger. Once it's up... do you work to take the adhesive off the concrete, or go right over it?

Get a diamond cup grinding wheel to go on a side grinder and remove the residual
adhesive. We removed a large area using solvents and the grinding method will go
quicker and less toxic.
