Looking for any information / help with this P & H welder , this is the welder my dad taught me to weld on ,after he passed another family member took it but never used it “ was working at the time “ I got it back hooked power to it powers up but won’t hold an arc . Pulled cover and no surprise it’s a mess inside , dirty rusted “ will post inside pictures later “ but I would love to if not restore it at least get it up and welding again . Any help would be appreciated!

You have one of the best welders ever made. Clean all components very carefully and thoroughly. Make sure all connections are clean and tight. Find where mice may have chewed the wires and replace with similar gauge where necessary. Be patient and thorough. You will be rewarded with a fine, smooth running machine. Good luck and keep us posted. Also, take pictures so you don’t confuse wires on reinstallation. I would do one part at a time. Parts are hard to come by. P&H was acquired by another company in 1970 and that company went out ten years later. I think the old Miller machines had comparable parts, but really, you shouldn’t need anything unless it got fried during misuse.
