My 2 car garage has a couple of switched bulb sockets and a couple of unswitched duplex receptacles on the ceiling. For years I suffered with 2 incandescent bulbs, eventually getting up to two 200 watt bulbs. The lighting was only so so, the bulbs are short lived and changing them on a 12 ft ceiling is a pain. I knew I should put up LED ( florescent substitute) fixtures but hanging them and where to hang them and how many always caused me to put it off. Then I saw those multiple bulb socket adapters online. They are non UL, bad reviews and on ebay, straight from China. Then I got an idea. I went to HD and bought 6 one to two bulb adapters. I screwed them together in 2 sets of 3. That gives me 4 sockets for each ceiling socket. They are Chinese, Leviton but at least UL approved and not total garbage. Then I ordered a bunch of 100 watt equivalent, 4000K bulbs. That is 12,800 lumens split between two clusters of 4. The bulbs consume 15 watts each. I could have gotten 5000K locally but I spent my working life under 4100K cool white fluores ents and I can't stand the so called daylight lamps. 4000K is the color of most of the LED fluorescent replacement fixtures. The lamps are Lumegen. The bases are vented and they are heavy. Hopefully, they will last. Oh yaeh, it is BRIGHT and no shadows or darker spots, as the walls and ceiling are the reflector. Best part, I just had to screw them in. Done. For the last couple of days I flick them on when I pass the garage to see how nice and bright it is in there. 120 actual watts, 50, 000 hrs. All done. I bought 2 spare bulbs but if all goes well they will be used elsewhere.
