I have several old vise grip pliers that the plating is peeling badly. What do you guys do in such a situation. I am considering sandblasting them and then powder coating them. I can have this done for free so cost isn't an issue. Any other ideas?

If you can have them powdercoated for free, I don't think you're going to come up with any better ideas than that.

Can I send you mine for powdercoating too? :D

Eh, yea, those ****. I usually wire wheel or blast them. Those are about the only thing I will tolerate flaking chrome on. Otherwise it can be frustrating and down right dangerous at times. The make good welding I don't care about arc mark vise grips.

Hey Crow, good to see you on line again!

For welding grips, what ZK said is a good solution. Other than welding your powder coat idea is reasonable.
