Piercing a brick wall for sub-panel

I would like some details

I have 2" pvc run from the shop to the house. I need to pierce a brick wall to get to the panel in the garage. Surely you do not pierce the brick wall with a 2" hole and then try to connect that up to the panel in the garage. How do you get it to the panel. I will be running #4 copper to the panel. Do you get an adapter and go to 1" conduit?

Just looking for details on this.

Bring the conduit up the wall to an LB box:

It has a cover plate so that you can pull the wires up and then feed them through the 90˚ turn. Feed that directly into the back of where you need it in the panel.

I have a 2" coming out of the ground. Do I get a reducer to go to this box??

What size do I run from that box to the panel?

Does it have to go all the way to the panel or can I run the loose wires to the box with them just supported??

I'd keep the 2" just to make the 90˚ bend easier to run.

The LB should be placed on the outside of the wall directly behind where it comes into the panel and the cable will come in through the backside. You will have a short piece of conduit attached to the LB that goes through the wall and then directly into the backside of the panel.

If, for some reason, you aren't entering right at the panel then you will need conduit on the inside of the structure from the entrance to the panel. You cannot run individual wires loose.

2" pvc will take a 2.5 inch hole thru the bricks, maybe more if your mounting the subpanel on the bricks.

90° turns in close quarters are made with those boxes pictured above.

2" conduit all the way to the box. Yes that means a large "hole" thru the brick.

You may have to remove one half of a brick which can be done by drilling small holes thru the brick then using a chisel to remove the brick piece by piece and the surrounding mortar. Be careful not to crack the remaining wall. Seal around the conduit when finished with mortar.
