Go on eBay. You can pick up a yoke style vise cheap most any day.

Wiz: i can't say i've ever looked for anything at HF and only been in their store once to buy a propane weed/brush burner that i've still not taken out of the box 2 years later. they might have a pipe vise, but why not look for a 70+ year old on since you live in a very very very vise rich part of the USA?

some members see them so often they quit buying them in some areas so you shouldn't have a lot of competition. what size are you looking for? and for what sort of pipe or job?

here's a few options you have for holding pipe which you probably already know, but for the sake of the thread i'll post a few pictures too.

1) standard pipe vise (red one)
2) chain vise (this one is pretty old)
3) bench vises that have pipe jaws

You should be able to get an American made pipe vise cheap. Ridgid makes good ones, I have one I got at an auction super cheap.

I did as the previous poster mentioned and bought a yolk style for about $30 shipped on ebay that does the smaller dia piping.

Good Ridgid pipe vises of all types turn up at garage sales and flea markets. I have them but rarely use them because I do not cut hard pipe or conduit often and I only very, very rarely thread it. When I do, I can generally hold it in the pipe jaws of my regular bench vise.
