I just replaced the hinges on my tilt up garage door with jamb style hinges.
The originals were pivot style that mount on an axle that was mounted to the garage wall about 2 - 3 feet back from the opening. They're original to the garage built in the late 30's or early 40's. Right now I have them sitting in a pile going to the scrap guy, but they are pretty cool hinges.
If any one is interested in them you can have them for free if you pick them up. I'm in Los Angeles. They're complete minus the springs.
