Guys,

I need to replace my old tool case. I'm a field service engineer for medical imaging equipment. None of my tools are very big, 10" Channellocks, 8" adjustable, 3/8" drive socket set. The rest of my tools would be considered electronics sized.

I think I'm going to get one of these;

My old case has sewn tool holders on the pallets. These new cases have
molded tool holders standard. The case can also be special ordered with the
sewn loops.

I've always considered my tool case, as my security blanket. I'm dreading
starting to work from a new, unknown box. There's nowhere nearby to handle many tool case options.
I'd like to get this right the first time.

I guess my question is, do any of you have experience or opinions about your molded tool pallets ?

Thanks,
Steve

Can't go wrong with a platt case. Used them for years. Still have a few. Fyi if you get the ATA rated case. The dam thing will float full of tools. True story.
Go molded inserts. They hold up better.

I've had both styles and don't remember one being superior to the other. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Can you still get pallets in either configuration? If you really know your tools and what you need then you can custom order from a pick list.

Thanks guys,

Larry G, yes you can order any pair of pallets, with any box they make.
I'd be happy to just copy the pallets in my current box, but I can't find a
similar pattern.

I don't want the box with wheels. I using a folding two-wheeler. I've always
got a stack of computers, parts and test equipment along with a tool case.
