So please not to laugh at my driving, I was backing a 26 foot stick shift truck, I was concentrated on straighten up the truck with driveway first, didn't realize the truck was SO LONG!
Well, so the steel bumper of the truck hit the center column between the two garage doors, I was almost stopped when hitting but still caused some damage. From what I can tell, the vertical wood bins was pushed back about 2 inches or less on the bottom, the outside brick has some crack, the out layer of plywood board was broken. I think if the bins can be pushed back to the original place, replace the outside plywood and bricks, it should be good?
To make matter worse, this is my wife's sister's garage, they didn't seem to think it's a huge problem but I feel like **** for what I've done. I did option the insurance when renting the truck but it seems only cover the truck and cargo, not the things I could've hit. Also I don't think my car insurance will cover since I wasn't driving my car but a commercial truck. But I gotta find someone to get this fixed before I can sleep well, and I'll just have to pay out of my pocket for the repair.
So the question is I want to call someone to get a quota (hopefully two or three quotas) but don't know which kind of company should I call, does someone building the decks or finishing the basement will know this kind of work? How bad do you think the damages are? and how much it will cost to get it fixed? I don't think the bins between the garage doors support the weigh but I'm not a pro...
Sorry for the long post, any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
