I recently inherited this box from my father-in-law who had previously inherited it from his step-father. It is a big box that was filled with machinists tools. It has a fold down cover that stores in the lid like a mecahnics box rather than underneath. The drawers are arranged like a machinist box but there aren't as many as are typically found and it is a big box that isn't easily portable when full.

I've searched Ebay, Google and this site and have yet to se another just like it.

It is a typical Craftsman mechanics chest.
It's from the late 40's to late 50's. :thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks - I looked in the 1955 catalog and the mechanics chest pictured there is different. It has a hasp type lock on the top lid and there is no front cover.
