This may be a long shot, but maybe some kind soul here has what I need and would be willing to part with it ...
I have a 9x18 lathe, one of those Taiwan-made bench lathes sold under a variety of names Mine is Buffalo branded, but they also are Chiu Ting, Grizzly, Enco, Guardian Power, Central Machinery and probably many others. The size is variously listed as 9x18, 19 and 20, I guess depending on whether they measured with a chuck and tailstock center in place!
Anyway, I got mine in 1984 as a basket case with a broken power switch. I glued the switch back together and it has held all these years. Now, it has broken again, and this time I don't think there's enough left of it to fix. I could replace it with any ol' DPDT center off, but I like the rotary switch because it's nearly impossible to turn on by accident, certainly not true of a toggle switch.
I can order one from Grizzly, but it's back ordered with projected delivery end of March!!
The lathe model is CT-918A or CT-918AM; Griz's version is G4000, and Enco's is 308-0338.
So, if anyone has a busted one with a good switch, I'd sure appreciate hearing from him! Bob 314-209-1515
