please help, modine propane conversion

I am trying to convert my modine natural gas heater to propane, but I am confused... there are two main burner orifices attached to the manifold. The conversion kit only came with one new burner? The instruction also said to install the supplied air shutter, but again, I have two burners that I could attach it to, but only one shutter? What to do?

Attached is a similar manifold, but with 4 burners

Is it for the same size furnace? was the packaged sealed? generally each burner has an orfice and there is regulator spring change. Chances are they gave you one for a single burner not 2 burner or it has been robbed for another job.

It was sealed, and also came with a pilot orifice and regulator spring change. All of the other part numbers matched to the instructions.

Yep they sent you the wrong kit . You have 2 burners you need an orfice for each burner.

This *****, I have the heater down and torn apart.

Here is a pic of it with one burner installed and the one shutter installed. I am holding the old burner that I removed.

Thats an orfice and you need 2 of them and 2 shutters. Either that oooooor if your feeling up to it and have the right bits you could always drill out the orfice to the right size .

Yea, I know it's an orifice.... I called it the wrong thing. I guess I might be able to drill the orifice, but then I still need a air shutter.

I'm not sure how your going to drill it smaller than it already is. Going from natural to propane will require a smaller orifice. Going to take a magic bit to drill that hole.

p.s. before someone jumps in here and says "you can braze it up and redrill it!" Yes....you could do that. I wouldn't do that. It has been done. But I wouldn't normally jump to that as the best solution.

Thanks for that info. I was wondering if it would need to be bigger? I am completely out of drills to make the hole smaller.
I need to find more parts. At this rate I will not have thisthing ready to go until spring.

Phil your right and I feel like a dummy . I forgot that propane jets are smaller not larger ( dont do alot of conversions ) . Last one I had to convert from propane to NG and trane actually still had the kit.

Tweidman do you have any HVAC supply places in town one of them might actually be able to get you the kit . I had to order a part for a Modine yesterday from Johnstone supply .

I do have a Noland supply near me. Although, I bought this heater with the understanding that it would come with a conversion kit. I guess the seller ordered the wrong kit. I am trying to get the seller to supply me with the right parts <fingers crossed>
