Hope everyone is well

I have this TV that weighs over 65 lbs I'm sure. Needs to be mounted over the fireplace in a rental house. This house was built in 1940 and has all cinder block walls with I guess sheetrock covers them. How and what do I mount this heavy TV?

I've asked but it very confusing and very intimidating. I only want to do this once because if this TV falls I will be crying like a baby.

Please help me?

I don't know if they actually work, but the nicer stud finders claim to be able to identify different materials in a wall.
Beware that the construction of the wall above the fireplace can be very different than the other walls. In my house it had just enough stick framing to support drywall before we tore it out and framed in a header to hold a stone mantle.
I'd probably lay out where you want the mounting bolts and drill a small hole in one of the locations to see what's there. I'm a big fan of the drywall and masonry anchors that Container Store sells. Each one holds over 20 pounds easily, so a full set would hold that TV even just in drywall. The key to any fastener working is to drill a clean hole with smooth sides so the anchor just fits in it, getting a good bite all the way around and it has no ability to wiggle. A wiggling fastener will fail, whether it's in drywall or solid steel.

Doing what you want to do is not complicated, IF a person has experience.

Seriously, you will be better off to find someone experienced to do this.

You want to sleep peacefully at night, not worrying about falling TV's.

Everyone has their talents, no one can do everything.

Instead of attaching the TV to the wall, is setting it on top of something like a dresser or cabinet or anything an option?
