Please resurrect troublesome neighbor!

While I agree that a couple of rules were broken - no religion or politics- I think ptschram's thread "More fun with the troublesome neighbor" is just too interesting and instructive to throw away. Surely there must be some middle ground for those of us just itching to know what happens next! Editing out the offending posts, then restart with a stern warning? New thread, continuing, with appropriate warning?
I agree rules exist for a reason and should be followed, but isn't there some flexibility for an exceptional thread?

I just read the most recent posts on it since it's closed, not gone. What I saw was the OP attacking people left & right for expressing their opinion. Good riddance. I said in the very beginning of that thread that I was glad that NEITHER of them were my neighbor. That opinion hasn't changed.... You guys who love the drama & just have to know how it turns out ? Add the OP to your buddy list.
