* 10-inch Slip Joints - no branding - handle pattern similar to early Crescent.

* 10-inch Slip Joints - "Worth" - most likely manufactured for Peck Stow and Wilcox by Diamond Tool, Duluth, Minnesota.

* 10-inch Slip Joints - no branding - handle pattern matches Diamond.

* 8-inch Slip Joints - Diamond Tool, Duluth, Minnesota (damaged on brand stamp)

* Crestaloy 1950-B (Crescent Tool Co., Jamestown, New York) 9-inch Linemans Pliers.

* Diamalloy SL-58 (Diamond Tool, Duluth, Minnesota) 9-inch Linemans Pliers.

* 10-inch angle-jaw groove-joint pliers - no markings, so assume China (PRC)

* NAPA 7 inch Diagonal Cutters. Laser etching is faded, I can't see part number. Most likely manufactured for NAPA by S-K.

* Crescent J-26 (Crescent Tool Co., Jamestown, New York) 7-inch Bent-Nose two-position Slip Joints.

* Kraeuter 1880-3 (Kraeuter Co., Newark New Jersey) 7-inch Linemans Pliers.

* Blackhawk PT-1060 (Blackhawk Mfg. Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin) 7-inch Diagonal Cutters.

Quality pliers always have milled relief around the jointing ......cheap ones have feather edges that burr up ......funny thing is SnapOn pliers now have these cheap features .

Here is a new grab, Santoro diagonal cutters. Grips made with Keiba cast in. Looks like Santoro was an importer of Japanese and W German tools, but the Keiba makes me think Japan.





It appears Keiba is a decently regarded brand here on GJ. I didn’t see that before I picked them up. I noticed a bit of lost chrome on the jaws, but for the price, I will make them work

Made in Japan, likely in the 60's? seem very ell made for that era of Japaneses tools. forged "BF Japan" inside the handles, and with a grip pattern:

Found an unmarked pair of pliers today at a yard sale. The handle pattern is very familiar but the nut seems odd.

Those dimples are to upset the last thread and make it a "lock nut" Wiss used 3 to do the same on snips at least . A buddy ground a triangular shaped punch to renew the upset thread when rebuilding/sharpening Wiss snips, particularly for the aviation snips. (Those also take a "checkering file' to renew the gripper teeth)

Here is a pair of E.T. Company chain repair pliers. The pliers are stamped "E.T. Co. Norwalk CT" with a "Pat. May 4'20" patent date and is about 7” in length. The patent date corresponds to patent 1,338,804, filed by D.C. Woodworth in 1919 and issued in 1920.

Sorry for the messy cropped pic - bought five pliers today and haven’t gotten all of them sorted yet. Top is a 45° bend Wm Hjorth Jamestown NY “Auto” on one handle only plier. I removed an improvised nut&bolt holding the halves together as found. I’ll see if I can find something better.

Vacuum-Grip Newport PA battery pliers, tiny Snap-on Tools (Vacuum-Grip inside other handle) dikes. Date code is giving me trouble.

Utica slipjoints, and a small box-joint duckbill pliers. I see “France” clearly enough, but less sure about “A.F & Co.”

I think I see “-TISSER” or “-TISSES” which has to do with cloth (English cognate: tissue) weaving (granted, it also looks like “713548”), but expect “pince à” to precede it, and what’s there looks like “GRAIAT” to me.

Almost assuredly Hugoniot-Tissot. I know it may be hard to believe with how disfigured that marking is, but I am confident that's what you have there. I have a few of their pliers, exceptionally high quality. I also have an Hugoniot-Tissot hand vise. I'm out, on phone, or I'd link them so you compare markings. If you search this forum on that name, you'll find them.

I don’t see a lot of French-made tools, and I buy even less, but like you said, these seem exceptionally well-made.

I left behind these oddball Button's pattern pliers at the flea market this morning. No markings. It was the tips of the jaws I found intriguing. I have and I have seen some strange variations, from square to blunt, but don't recall any quite like these. If they weren't so symmetrical I might suspect they were whittled.

“N \ IERS” at least. Maybe “BUTTON’S PATTERN \ PLIERS,” like you said, but if the top line is that long, then something in front of “PLIERS” on the second line would be more symetrical.

I am not a tool "collector". If I have a tool because I use it. Maybe not often, but it gets used.

I have one drawer for just "locking" pliers (Vise-Grips) and a second drawer for pliers/cutters. 5 or 6 needle nose, from tiny to very long and curved. 6 or 7 cutters/snips. 5 or 6 arc joint (CHANNELOCK)

As it turns out..., marked only "BUTTON" \ "PLIERS". Perfectly aligned. And exactly the same on the flip side.



The price was FREE. After I teased Don about bankers' hours and we exchanged 'it ***** getting old' stories about hips and knees and coffee, I helped him take the clips and the tarps off all his stuff. (Good eye, LS. As I have significantly increased my selectivity and reduced my take-home, I have taken to going satchel-less. But that's where my loupe is! My phone has a magnifier, but I often forget that it does. No excused though. I just naked eyed that yesterday.)

P&C making no effort at disguise. These look exactly like P&C 1276 pliers; even the length and handle pattern match - the only exception is that the P&C marked 1276 pliers have polished chrome portions. These are all satin chrome. All they did was replace the "P&C" in the logo outline with "U.S.A."




6.4 inches long.

Markings:
“U.S.A.”(in the squished hex P&C outline) (R) U.S.A. 6”
“S4” forge mark on one handle, and something on other handle that is hard to discern (OB4?)
