I posted a link to an eBay auction of a neat vintage SK socket set. The thread was there because I saw 38 lookers, but it vanished later. Did I break a rule posting it?

Rule from the Classifieds. . .

4. Please do not post links to other classified or auction sites.

As far as we know, that could have been a link to your Ebay auction.

If it was allowed in the Classifieds, you don't have the minimum posts to place a classified ad.

I know you thought it might be a neat set, but the way you posted/linked it was wrong per forum rules. You didn't get a PM about it, or an infraction, live and learn.

BTW, wasn't me.

Thanks, I did think it as neat, and it certainly was not my auction. Lesson learned.
