Power Hacksaw Value

This a Craftsman model 101.22940 (Atlas) power hacksaw. No motor (I have one) and no pulleys (I can get these). Was listed at $75, ad was pulled, relisted at $95. I was hoping for closer to $50. Seller said he would sell it to me for $75. I do not NEED it, but it looks cools and I would use it.

I think you were thinking closer to its value, Being you don't need it. I would offer him 50.00, Besides you will need to get the parts that are missing.

I'm on my second one, and I paid $100 for each of them. $50 would be a super deal...$75 a very good deal.

Check the crispness of that ratchet block, it takes a lot of sawing to wear them out completely. The first one I had only needed the pawls cleaned up to work properly.

Note that those, made for Sears, models mostly omit the auto shut off switch shown in the picture below. They were made by Covel.

This video shows it in action sawing at the correct speed, his does have the auto shut off feature.

If in good shape I would buy it
I have wanted one. Most people have gone to the horizontal band saws but with these you could use a carbide tipped hack saw blade for cutting really hard thick stuff
