Good Day All State New Hampshire
I have a power line question ? Does any one have or know were I can get information as to the set backs from above, distance from power lines/pole running to my home from the street. My drive way is ~800 ft and the power lines run the length of the drive to the house. I plan on placing my garage off of the drive way, but I don't know how far back from the lines I have to be ? PSNH (Public Service of New Hampshie) Wasn't to much help, they said check with the BI (Building Inspector) He said check with PSNH I did find out that the line carries 122.4 Volts and the person would get back to me...... two weeks later no reply, any ideas, directions to go.
Thanks for any help

Do you mean 12,240 volts or 12,400 volts? I think that is a common high voltage. Transformer located at the house? or near it. Is PSNH the power company? or a state regulator?

Edit: Looking at the PSNH web site I see they are the power company.

Power company has an easement of some sort, whether in writing or not, for those lines. Is there a local power company office or maintenance facility near by. They should know. Ask for an engineer.

I have a 12K volt line feeding our subdivision, that runs the full length of one side of my yard, about 900 ft from front to back. It sits 15 ft inside the property line, and the Power Company told me they had easement 15 ft either side of the line.

Here is some info you may find useful, including vegetation setbacks.

The web page below will probably give you a suitable contact.
