Pre-rounded grinding disc....?

Okay, here me out on this one: I much prefer the way a slightly worn-in grinding disc grinds. For most of the things I do with a grinding disc, the factory "Square edge" is annoying and never leaves the finish I want.

Does anyone make a disc where the factory edge is rounded off, or a disc that can approximate from new, the way a worn-in grinding disc will grind?

If I need a decent finish and end up with a new disc I just find an area that needs hogging off, or a scrap, or even a rock (usually am outside)

Curved flap discs still exist, and I know I've seen a radius grinding wheel at home depot before.

"Grinding" discs are thick abrasive wheels made of the same material used on "hot saws" or abrasive cutting wheels.

If you want control, and a variety of wheel types, just switch over to combiclick.

What are you trying to do? Blend? If so, look at a flap disc. Various grits. I like Walter Enduroflex.

Also look at whats called "Fibre Discs" and backing pads. Its a more complicated system, but it allows for a lot more versatility in what finish you end up with. You can mix and match various grit discs with various firmness backing pads and accomplish everything from aggressive stock removal to a high polish buff surface. Right now Im using 3m 982CX Cubitron discs with a stiff rubber backing pad, its more on the aggressive side and cuts better than any wheel Ive used prior.

Basically just trying to blend and grind some welds, specially in creases/tight areas. I find a rounded-off grinding disc works pretty well.

I have backing pads and fiber discs for certain jobs, but it would not work for this application. I have used Pferd curved flap discs, and they more or less do exactly what I want - however they do not last long enough given their price.

For blending and grinding use a flap disc as others have stated. I have 40, 80 and 120 grit flap discs that I use instead of a grinding disc.

If you are getting the results you want from a stone then keep it going, grab a good dressing tool like riltman suggested

you def DONT need a proprietary, overly complicated, and expensive Combiclik

Flapdisc have a place, typically this exact situation. They even offer a fully wrapped edge for sneaking into tight spots

I now understand what the OP is looking for (a grinding wheel for an angle grinder that already has a rounded edge). I don't see anything like that on McMaster-Carr, so I'm inclined to think it doesn't exist... You can get flap wheels with rounded edges.

It's also clear that this could work better than a flap disc in places like inside corners.

It's not a bad idea for a production item. You can contour a grinding wheel yourself in a few seconds with an old rock or concrete block, but that gets messy and a little dangerous pretty fast.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Used a Metabo flat head grinder for this exact reason, to dress welds in tight places.
Went through my box and found these guys, I could hit them on some half in plate to take the edge off and send them your way if you like.
