Pressure washer new pump pulsating

Hi,

Anyone work with pressure washer? I replaced an AAA pump with a popular Cat 4ppx25gsi pump. Ran it today and it's pulsating and making noise. You can see the hose move with the sound.
Also the pressure is definitely not as strong as the AAA pump

Faulty pump? I cant see how it would have messed up installing it. Basically just bolt it on. Will read the manual on it again

Did you put oil in it? They usually come without.

What's your engine HP? That pump needs 5.6HP to get full pressure.

Yup, there is oil. Double checked through the glass level on it.

Honda gx200 is a 5.5hp. Had did research and this was the pumpe everyone paired with the engine.

Did you replace th regulator? was the pulsing the reason you installed a new pump?

The old one, I rebuilt with orings and seal kit as it leaked water into the pump. After a run, I saw water in the oil again and checked the valves and that same bad plunger had dislodge the seal. Guess I could have run it till it died (still have it)

This pump has a unloaded adjustment. I remember that now. Read some people complaining of the pressure and that was it.

Unloader is the right term good catch. otherwise maybe a valve was installed wrong?
