Not sure what the guideline is....but here goes

Typical data run per location here is around $100-$130 a run. Generally whether it's 20 feet or 80 feet. The longer versus shorter runs all balance out at the end of the day.....

What would you consider a *acceptable* charge or common charge if it's extra cable or cables to the same location. For example, let's say in one location, I'm running 2 cat6 or in another, 5 cat6.

I have a sparky I like. My beef is his pricing. It's basically X runs by X cost...so a single location with multiple runs cost way more that where I think it should be at (with the understanding that terminations and the cost of wire) into account. The labor of pulling it is relatively the same....

Well, there's two different things the price of electrical work and then there's
the price of telephone work.

Can you believe that telephone is more?

Please beleive that the Telephone pre-drop price is within reason and
probably in-line with others regionally. Telephone/CAT is ususally priced per
drop!

Get two more prices...

Per drop I'm on the same page....
However, 4 drops to the same location IMO - pricewise, I'm not agreeing to a $400+ price on that...It's the same labor on pulling, just extra materials and terms is per drop....
I'm Walking into this, saying labeling, testing, etc - I know he has to do each per drop. But pulling wires to the same location....should not be 4X rate. I can see it being MORE, but not the drop price x 4

Is it common to do it by QTY X or is it discounted somewhat when you're pulling to the same location/outlet ?

We're talking about 180 runs....

If i do both at same time I would charge the difference for materials and maybe a little extra. If he has to pull it 4 times then basically he's doing same job 4 times. Cable wire and cat 5 is easy to run, you should just do it yourself. If I have to run a cable line I usually charge $65 each line, figure a roll of rg6 cost $50 for a roll of 500 feet and 10 minutes of my time

that price model is his profit base. when I do side work I charge 55 dollars a hole plus light fixtures and equipment whether the run is 12 inches or 20 feet. the alternative I offer is time and material at 60 dollars an hour. don't like it? see ya! I simply don't have time or motivation to quibble about the money.
