Programmable light switch

I just moved into my house which is about ten years old. The outside garage light is turned on with one of those programmable switches. I replaced the batteries in the switch but I can't figure out how to get it to go on at 6 and off at midnight.
Where can I go to get program instructions on these types of switches?

figure out the make / model, if you take off the coverplate you may be able to see some info on the strap. then go to that companies website and look for the instructions.

I've installed and used a few of these. Some of them are pretty easy to program and others are just too confusing. Usually the fewer buttons there are the more confusing it is, since you have to press multiple button combinations that aren't intuitive to accomplish what you want. Ditto what mrb said, check out the company web site.
