PTAC Wall Sleeve Removal?

I replaced an older (25 year old?) Carrier PTAC unit through the my den wall with a new Amana. When I ordered it, I ordered a new sleeve and grill as well. Turns out, the Amana fit the old sleeve 99% (had to make new holes for the screws on one side). My question is, how difficult is it to remove the old sleeve? I didn't see how it was mounted and secured to the wall when I had the unit out, but it was at night. Since the unit slides in and out easy enough, I wouldn't mind making the change so it's all new... but don't want to tear up the wall to do so.

I searched, watched a bunch of YouTube videos etc, but couldn't find anything on the sleeve removal part.

Thanks!

The sleeve should be screwed from the inside into the framing. The outside may have caulk or trim boards that might have to be removed. The inside could have trim around it or caulk also.

Thanks for the response- I’ll get up close and more inquisitive… I do see some molding tacked in place in the inside. The outside is flush with the house.
