I believe this has been covered before in this chatroom but thought I'd ask again. I am getting ready to pour a concrete floor for an addition to my existing shop. I figure now is the time to add pots for holding a vehicle and perhaps doing some pulls for body work and or frame straightening. I've worked in a few auto body shops in the past so I know how the pull process works, but I want to know how thick of a pour I need to make to insure that these pots do what they are intended to do and not pull out. 4"? 6"? Is it better to set the pots during the pour or is it best to drill and set after the pour?

I put them in my shop. I made my own design tho. I made 1 1/2 x 24 rods with a 5/8 counter sunk stainless screw to seal the threaded hole and keep from rusting to the steel pin. I laid out a grid then used a laser to set heights and after they were set I welded rebar across to tie them together. Worked great. Best part is they do t interfere with creeper or become dirt traps.
I have some plates made that have a rubber pad on bottom to protect the floor and then have d rings that Bolt to the plates.
