I recently bought one of the grey Harbor Freight 20 ton presses, and noticed it does not have a handle with it. I am at work now digging through the scrap bins, but was wondering if anybody with one of these knows what the diameter and length the handle needs to be so I can find something similar?

Thanks in advance.

Can you just measure the diameter and depth of the hole? I would think a 24 inch handle length would be plenty

I could if I was near my press. I am at work, and was looking through our scrap bins to find something the correct diameter. I was just hoping somebody had one near by and could measure it for me or happens to know the diameter off hand.

Thanks

Single piece of pipe 21" long and about 7/8" will do the trick. Thats what comes with the press. The 7/8" pipe is a pretty sloppy fit in the pump.

The pump is a slightly less than a 15/16" hole

Seems like I used a piece of 1/2" sch 40 blk steel pipe.

I hate the flimsy handles most bottle jacks come with and usually just use a piece of pipe or big screwdriver...just stick in whatever fits...unless I am missing something? it's just a bottle jack right?

It's roughly 7/8 diameter. I made a little holder for mine and also have a shorter piece of black iron pipe I use to get the ram down to the piece faster and then switch over to the normal size handle
