Racedeck Cleaning Question - Grass Stain !!

I left one of those brown paper recycling bags of grass clipping sitting on my Racedeck floor for a couple of days.

Besides the horrible smell from the fermented clippings.....I now have a green stain on 4 of the tiles where the bag was sitting.

Any ideas how I can get rid of the stain ??

Tried Windex, Fantastic, mineral spirits, and isopropyl alcohol...stain is still there.

I will try the Simply Green cleaner and acetone tomorrow.

Has anyone had this problem ??

The magic eraser does work for many things, Your issue is a bit unique but I would imagine that a rag dampened with Acetone would do the job. call us...if you can't get it off the tiles, let us know and I will send you free replacements

I will try the acetone...haven't had a chance yet.

My better half picked up a magic eraser today...if neither of these work I would like to take you up on your replacement offer.

Acetone or Lacquer thinner will clean them right up as good as new.

I tried the magic eraser......no good !

As suggested I will try the acetone....have not been able to get to store to get some. I have been helping my brother in law paint his house for the past several days.

Thanks again ....will post results with the acetone cleanup when complete !! Hopefully tomorrow since my painting gig is done.

Acetone did not remove the grass stain....neither did Shout or bleach !!!

We must have some pretty nasty grass clippings here in Michigan !!!

Any other ideas before I ask Jorgen to send the replacement tiles as he offered ??

I find this interesting. Ive never been able to find anything that stains my racedeck.

Id be more happy finding a solution vs replacing.

Of course it does get expensive buying all these chemicals and what-not. 4 tiles is like what, 12 bucks?

I know he offered ya free ones but Id like to know a repair for this. I have my lawnmower in my garage, and sometimes I cut the grass and wash the mower, giving it wet grass wheels.

I agree Tone..it is only 10-12 bucks for four tiles but cleaning is better than replacing !!! I have probably spent $10 already on cleaners....but on the bright side I can probably use them for other things !!! I am a little stubborn and take this as a challenge !!

I have not had an issue yet with wet grass on the mower wheels staining the floor...just under the recycling bag where the moisture collects from the fresh clippings. I am very lucky I only had one bag on the floor this time I usually have 3 or 4 bags later in the season !!!

Since I saw this post, I had one of our engineers try to duplicate what you described and have had no luck? it could be the type of grass out here? or could be something in the materials of the bag? or even the combination to the two when damp & sealed?

Did you try the acetone? I would love to see a sample if you can not get the green stain off the floor, as almost nothing really should be able to absorb into the PP material. It would help us learn something new that we can possibly improve on.

The acetone did not remove the stain either. Gasoline seemed to remove some of the stain...the tile transferred some of the stain to the gasoline dampened white rag. I was going to try diesel fuel tomorrow and see if that helps.

I will try to take a couple of pictures tomorrow and try and post them here.

I can send you the tiles so you can use them to test cleaners and possible improvements to the tile.

I think the grass is Kentucky blue grass...nothing special.

Really strange? I would love a sample...My guess is the green dye from the grass is on the surface and not impregnated in the material...just really difficult to get off. Cutting a tile in half will let me see this.
