Racedeck on uneven floors?

Hi guys! I just joined up because I'm starting my garage reno soon. It needs it badly. It's a separate 24'x33' triple door garage, built in the early 60's. Good solid condition, but just plain dirty from decades of usage.

So I'm wondering on opinions, and hopefully experience from people who've put Racedeck products on uneven floors. Because my garage is so old, the conrete has sagged into tire tracks. It's not TOO bad, but water does pool in those spots.

Will the tiles have any problems with this? Are they slightly malleable, so they won't just be going over the drops, but will conform to them?

Tik-Tok,

Good Question. One option would be to use a self-leveling product to prep the low spots in the floor. I found this product at HD when I was considering VCT - Henry 555 Level Pro

But, I was curiuos about your question and asked RaceDeck for info. They say that since RaceDeck is a co-polymer tile product, it will conform to the unevenness of the garage floor. When the tile is first laid down, it is pretty rigid, but as the months pass, it will conform even more to the slopes, dips, and rises of an old concrete floor. (Thanks Kia)

When Jorgan gets near a computer, he may jump in to respond too.

Good Luck on your project

Thanks wingnut. I was thinking of leveling it prior (with a similar product that you mentioned), but if we ever sell the house, it'd look pretty ugly if I took the Racedeck with me.

In regards to uneven and cracked floors with RaceDeck installations. The reason RaceDeck works great for this type of problematic floor is all in the patent lock system. The locks allow the floor to flex every foot on all four sides while staying fully locked. This allows the RaceDeck to continue to contour throughout the entire garage. The actual material RaceDeck is made from is a rigid high-impact co-polymer, while it offers anti-fatigue properties...it is not soft enough to be contour unevenness, that is all the locks job.

Thanks
