Ratcheting T-handles

Are these generally strong enough to break loose fasteners? I'm thinking about picking one up, but slighty skeptical it might just collect dust.

With single piece t-handles (hex/torx etc) I usually use them to break and spin out fasteners. I tend to like my T handles longer, so a ratcheting version might allow me to vary lengths, without gobbling up loads of storage room.

The willams/bahco/snap on family is one, and also there is HAZET 863Q, and probably some others.

Anyone with experience want to chime in and compare them to their fixed-shaft cousing T handles/?

Yes. I have the Williams WRST4 and it's very nice to use, however as with all of the Snap-on ratcheting screwdrivers, the shank is simply too big for use in tight areas. Depending on application of course. So you'd probably wanna keep the solid t-handles around.

That being said, It's just as nice as the screwdriver handle, with the bonus of no cap to fall off/lose. Iirc williams makes them in 3 lengths, mine is 4", there is a stubby and a longer as well.

Can the ratcheting t-handles use exchangeble shanks (or be modified)?

Or do you have to buy them separately?

I forgot about the hard-handles vs soft handles design variance.

The hazet you just use 1/4 extensions, but the tooth count is lower.

I believe you can modify them to make them shank swappable, based on what I've read here. I myself haven't done that.

Yep T-handles can be converted. Have not really used mine much though.

It it s little course, needs more teeth but I like it for dash work (I took it apart and added mobil 1 grease and it helped some). It looks like snapon does not have it anymore. I think chads does, but that price is over twice what I paid for it.

Mac had that same ratchet made in Germany with their name on it. MRP4 is the number but maybe they don't carry it anymore either.

I picked up a cheap one at TSC years ago....JobSmart I think. I liked the idea of it, but never really use it, which is good because it is in my vehicles for roadside situations.
