Yeah, it is pretty clear that many if not all Craftsman Hammers are made by Vaughn. I have the following Craftsman hammers that have this Vaughn patent on them.

I would bet the Craftsman dead blow hammers are made by Nupla. They sell both of them at Sears and looking at them side by side they are almost identical.

The Craftsman dead blow hammers are definitely Nupla.

The Craftsman body hammers are made by Martin.

Russell - Gearwrench and KD overlap a lot these days. Who knows, eventually all KD tools will be labeled Gearwrench.

3 at 8 - would you be willing to update the 1st post every now and then with updates?

That's because KD Tools is the inventor of Gearwrench.:thumbup:

You are the man!!:bowdown::bowdown:

I've been contemplating getting those hammers, and I think I'll get one to try out. Thanks for the info.:thumbup:

I just got this hammer 3 weeks ago. It's really nice. I still prefer my old Stanley, but only because of habit.

I've driven 4 inch nails into doug fir, and 2-1/2 inch into pine and it's been very easy to work with for extended periods of time.

I noticed too that the hickory handled ball-pein's look exactly like the Blue Point hammers. But you get to pay about $8-$10 less. And S-O doesn't warranty wood handles, I'm told.
