This has been bothering my for years. I've looked and looked but something is zigging while I'm zagging or the Yin and Yang just don't fit.
I have a 1930's house that had knob and tube that I yanked out everywhere and replaced everything with 2014 NEC reqmt's including AFCI's. I love it.
Problem: there a 2) 3" round light fixture boxes in a wall that had old sconces on them. When I moved in 1998 I blanked off these 2 and covered them with paintings. Now after all this time, I'd like to use wall picture lights:
I don't want a cord hanging down the wall and since there is a box there, I can feed it off the new lighting circuit. So, a single recep recessed style would allow me to shorten a cord and plug in behind the pictures. I think I've seen these unicorns in my 50 years as a home improvement contractor but I can't find any to buy. Can't even get a pic off Google or Bing.
I could use a right angle plug because there are some options for a flush recep in a round box cover. And this is what I will do if necessary but even that isn't the easiest thing to find (might have to cut down a 4" cover). And cutting up a clock box doesn't quite get it done right.
Any help would be appreciated. If you have any, know of any, know where to find any, I'd be obliged. TIA
