I'm nearing completion on my 20x24 garage. It has fairly hight ceilings. It is attached to another two car garage that is attached to the house. I have a water line in my garage so i can wash cars so I can't have the water line freeze. I had the water line installed so I can drain it when not in use but still don't want it to fall under 45 degrees. I have a gas line ran to where the unit will be installed. Can someone recommend a good unit? I really have no ideal about hvac so your advice would be appreciated.

Congrats on nearing completion on your garage.
If you've taken some PICS of it's progress along the way, start a new thread in Gallery section and show off your build. GJers just LOVE new garage builds !! ;)

For your heater, you'll need to provide lots more information. Like what climate are in ??? Update your GJ Profile with City / State to get best advice.

Also, what level of insulation do you have in walls and ceiling?? What are other heat losses like man door, windows, garage doors, etc?? Will the garage doors be insulated??

General group of hanging heaters fall into groups:
TOP TIER - - Sterling Garage Guy, Reznor UDAP and UDAS (seperate combustion), and Modine Hot Dawg
MIDDLE TIER - - Beacon Morris (Menards), Mr Heater Big Maxx (Northern Tool)
CHEAPEST - - ProComm

Here's an affordable vendor for hanging heaters that will ship FREE. They price match ANY quote you can find nationwide. I haven't bought mine yet, but research led me to them (no affiliation with me personally).

If your garage will be well insulated, a great heater would be Modine Hot Dawg 45K Btu that is $605 (free ship) from QCSupply.

Thanks for the reply. I live in Utah so we can get pretty cold. The garage has a window along with a garage door. There is also an opening into my other 2 car garage which is not heated. The garage is insulated and the garage door is somewhat insulated. There is insulation between the garage door panels.

Both the Sterling Garage Guy & Beacon Morris are made by Mestek. In fact they both have the exact same installation manual and parts numbers. There is a seperate combustion chamber available. Both these units should be rated the same.
