Record Vise Questions

Hello I recently picked up a record sq6 but I'm having difficulty finding information about it. The vise is 52lb and has an anvil, quick release, swivel base. What materials is this vise made up of? Cast or ductile? Is it considered an engineer or mechanic? I see conflicting reports for both. Thanks

Retro: do you have any pictures of your vise? does it say MADE IN ENGLAND on its side or just Shefield or ??

since you posted it in VINTAGE TOOLS i'm guessing it's made in England and if i recall correctly the SQ 6 is a 6 inch wide jaw quick release.

as far as the material i'll have to see more pictures and i usually defer those questions to others.

I own a Record 6 inch vice that might be 20 years old that isn't the quick release model, but i do still have it's box that might tell you some of the answers to the questions you are asking about the quick release model if yours is around the same age as mine. here's a few pictures of both my like new non quick release and my used quick release Record vices.
