Hello,
This is my first post, so thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.
Before I bring my heater in for service, I would like your opinion on my problem and what I've done so far to try and fix it.
Reddy Pro 155 Kerosene heater. I have used diesel fuel for several years with no problems Would not fire up this season, but worked fine last year. This is what I've done in the last week to get it to work.
--drained and cleaned fuel tank
--put in fresh diesel fuel
--blew out fuel and air lines with compressed air
--installed new nozzle
--installed new fuel filter
--installed new air filters (X2)
--Removed, inspected, and cleaned the rotor and the 4 blades. The top gap is good (.003") and all 4 blades slide in and out of the rotor fine.
--installed a new plastic air filter housing...after I cracked the old one.
--installed new igniter
--checked air and fuel hoses for leaks
--checked air pressure (5.3 pis) with pressure valve with a scale from 0-15 psi
--cleaned photocell and checked with flash light...meter read 240 ohms.
When plugged in, the igniter glows, then the motor starts up, fuel comes out of the nozzle in a nice full-fan mist but never ignites. Sometimes just before the motor cycles off, it will ignite for a brief moment before shutting down.
I can't figure out what is wrong and have put many new parts into it. Before I throw more money into it, or buy a new heater, can I get your opinion.
Thank for your thoughts.
Jeffrey
