I have a Kennedy 620 that someone spray painted red.
Has anyone ever had success removing paint and leaving the original finish intact?
(I know the wrinkle finish complicates this.)
I was thinking of trying oven cleaner.

If i repaint, i havent decided on a color. Suggestions?
Pics of Kennedys youve done?

Try some simple green, soak a papertowel, lay it on the spots for a little while and then go over with a stiff tooth brush. Wrinkle finish paint is a pain to clean and unfortunately you can't cut and buff like you can a smooth paint.

Don't use oven cleaner.

I used a clay bar to remove some overspray from a vintage Cornwell box I have. While it did work on removing the paint, it also smoothed out the finish on the wrinkle paint underneath. :dunno:
