replaced torsion cables, whats wrong now?

I recently had a torsion spring snap. had it professionally replaced.
However, I noticed afterwards that one of my torsion cables was so badly frayed it was a torsion wire. I replaced both torsion cables. when finished i went to test garage door. Unfortunately a new problem has arisen in that the the lowest wheel pops out of place. its still on track, but the wheel axle itself is coming out of place somehow. what is my fix? how do i prevent it from happening again?

Are you saying that the wheel at the bottom remains in the track but the stem comes out of it's keeper mounted on the door? Or, are you saying that the wheel remains in the track and the stem comes out of the wheel?

If it's the former, it must be that your door is pulling up unevenly -- one side more than the other. But that would be really difficult to pull the stem completely out of the keeper.

If it's the latter, you would need new wheels. Nylon with 13 bearings are the better bet.

Test the door without the opener if there is one. Raise it and see if its lifting cockeyed, is balanced, and examine how everything tracks.

Is it possible you wrapped the cables wrong when you replaced them?

I'm surprised a professional changed out the springs and didn't then check out the rest of the door's parts and test for operation.
