replacement key for Craftsman toolbox

We have a relatively modern (1990s?) Craftsman box in my work area. I'd like to assign each of my techs their own toolbox with their own keys. The C-man box does not have a key.

How can we buy a replacement key? Should I just buy a whole new lockset from Amazon?

You should be able to get keys from Sears parts. Failing that you could replace the locks

I used https://www.easykeys.com when I needed to replace the keys to my Kennedy box. I see they have keys to many brands, including Craftsman.

For many many years Waterloo has made The Craftsman boxes. Anything Sears has is available from Waterloo and probably cheaper on a small item. They won't kill you on shipping like Sears. I bought a new cylinder and keys from them a few years ago after Sears could not match any of the numbers we supplied to any box. Afterward walked into the local Sears and they only had a complete top and bottom box lock set. Waterloo is the source.

This is who I use also, tool boxes,file cabinets, lockers etc.

Search eBay.
The lock will have a number stamped on it. Search by "Craftsman key ####".
I found a key for a Craftsman cabinet I bought used on Craigslist by looking on eBay.

While it might be hard to find a decent Sears store, they should have replacement lock sets available which includes lock and 2 keys.

I just saw this post, but here is my $0.02. I bought a set of 3 locks for my stack a few years ago at the Sears store. I knew the 3 numbers I had so I was able to get one to match so I have a 4th lock on the same key. I believe it was about $20 for the set. I am not sure the keys would be on a frame that is available for a copy unless you got with the manufacturer which would mean you could probably just get them to send you the keys. Early 90's may have still been built by Waterloo IIRC from my days working with their catalog operation.
