I have a Reznor WMO furnace in the shop. The OEM "main" switch went bad. So I am in process of replacing it. The OEM was a double pole single throw switch. It switched both Hot and Neutral of the incoming 120V line.
I plan on replacing it with a SPST switch and not switching the neutrals. There is a mess in the small wiring enclosure of the Reznor and I think I can clean it up with less connections in the box.
Is a DPST switch appropriate in this as OEM? Or should the Neutrals not be switched? This is an older unit so things may have changed since it was manufactured.
The furnace calls for and is wired with a 30 amp circuit to the switch #8 then on the other side is #10 from the switch to controls. I'm also considering a 30 amp fused disconnect on the wall and running flex to the box with #10 to the switch.
