We have a ridgid 18v drill and driver kit and would like to get a light of some sort for it. I have a Milwaukee fuel kit at work and have the lantern and love it. I see ridgid has a few different options, http://www.homedepot.com/b/RIDGID/N...h/Ntt-ridgid+light?NCNI-5&browsestoreoption=2. Anyone have one of these? I'm looking for something that I can get in a smaller place like a cupboard but also puts out a decent amount of light for lighting up a larger area if needed.

Your link brings up multiple Ridgid lights, I have this one in http://m.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-GEN5X-18-Volt-LED-Flashlight-Tool-Only-R8693B/205907832my trunk along with the Ridgid 18V 300 ft. Lb. 1/2" impact wrench. The light is great, and the bang for the buck is huge.

Yes the link brings up all the ridgid lights at home depot, a quick link so others don't have to search.

How does your light do in close areas like under sink cabinets? I used to have a similar dewalt one and didn't really like that unless it was pointed right at something it didn't really light up that good. And it was hard to point were I needed sometimes. Since I got my milwaukee lantern I love how it lights up the whole area instead of a single focused beam.

I have three DeWalt lights, 18V the flexible one, the spotlight and the 12V Max worklight that slides over the battery and the Ridgid is much better. The head rotates so you can point it up at 45 degrees while it is standing upright on the battery. Ut puts out more light than my Milwaukee M12 worklights (incandescent and LED), but not as much as the M12 LED stick or lantern. If you already have Ridgid 18 V battery system I would say go for it, but remember it is a spot type light, so under a sink it will be more directional were as the M12 LED stick or lantern will provide a wider brighter larger area of light.

I have the R869B one with the flourescent in it. It is OK but doesn't put out that much light. The best light I have ever seen cordless is actually this one but by Ryobi:

This guy would equal the light output of about 10 of the Rigid ones easily. It will light up the whole yard in the pitch black of night to about 50 feet. I want to say this is one of the 5 best tools in the whole Ryobi 18v lineup. There is a project on here on GJ to make a Rigid to Ryobi battery converter also to use Rigid batteries in Ryobi tools. I'm thinking of making the opposite some time. - Paul
