Anyone live in the Sacramento area?Check out RL Online Auctions at rlonlineauctions.com
I have saved alot of money on stuff for my garage. Some of my deals:
Craftsman XCP battery: $40 brand new, opened box. Retail sale price: $80 (sears)
Craftsman tool backpack: $11 ($40-50 Sears)
Marine First Aid kit with Nanuk box: $16 ($137 sale on Amazon)
Gladiator tile, 48 pieces: $46 ($175-200 Sears).
They have a ton of stuff...tool chests, tools etc. with stuff coming in all the time. A lot of it is open-box, however there are many items new, in-box and unopened. Electronics may be hit/miss because they are store returns and you are taking chances...
etc. etc. etc.
Other non-garage items I have purchased:
Play Doh Ice Cream maker brand new in box (for my kids) $5, regularly $18-20
Rubber boots ($8) slightly used, brand new after I hosed it down.
RL auctions liquidates store returns and clearance items from Costco, Amazon, Sears. Deals are better than e-bay because of the local nature (you have to pick up at their warehouse). You can get in a bidding war for some popular items, but overall the savings are much greater and less competition. You can e-mail RL online auctions and ask about the condition of the item, or visit and preview the item in person.
Im lucky because I can stop by the warehouse after work; its on my way home. To me, I feel this is the holy grail of getting new/almost new stuff real cheap. You dont have to worry about scammers too.
On top of CA tax, there is a 13% auction house fee.
Wife says Im addicted...
