Hello everyone!
I'm a 21 year old male. I live in Southern California. Up until recently, I had been working through a job agency. I went wherever they sent me (if they sent me) to work, which was mostly in warehouses. I have been thinking about becoming an Automotive Tech for years, or at the very least acquiring a new set of skills.
At the moment I am saving money to put myself through a Phlebotomy school. After that I hope to find a stable job where I can save money to pursue this "hobby" of mine, which I hope to eventually make a career out of. I don't plan on going to a tech school anytime soon, I just hope to learn enough through the forum and hands on at a garage for the time being. I rather learn as much as possible before going to a tech school, so I wouldn't feel like I'm being rushed through it.
I have been "volunteering" at a local garage for few hours a day. So far I've been using others tools, but I would like to start purchasing some of my own in the coming weeks. I would really appreciate it if someone could post some links to threads aimed for new guys. The type of threads I'm interested in is where tools are recommended for "first year apprentices", 2nd year, 3rd year etc. I have used the search engine and will continue to go back to it time to time.
