School me on rivets.

So I am trying to learn about rivets and I am not getting it. One of my qustions is what are the rivets called that they use on bomber seats, and what type of tool do they use to put them in? Another one I can't figure out is what is a backer bar? What are some other types of rivets that are used? Thanks for helping me learn something new.
