does anyone have any tips on how to do this? I rented a low speed buffer and got some 100 and 80 grit sanding screens. Problem is when you start the buffer it grips the floor and is extremely hard to control. Any tips will be appreciated. Thanks.

Go down to a 50 grit paper, it will be easier to handle, or spread a little sand or sawdust on the floor and let that help get you started.
