Sealer for pool decking

I need a sealer for a soon-to-be installed pool deck. it will all be concrete, including a shed pad, in the 1500 sq ft range.

I'm thinking Ghostshield Siloxa-Tek 8500, which according to their site, puts me at 2 gal of concentrate.

I want something that isn't a big project to reapply every several years. if there was an option that would also not cost me $500 each time, I'm all ears, but i do want something that will work,

How does that compare to ghostshield?

Do you have experience with it?

Stain for color, if desired. Densify and use the ghostshield 8500. It’s worth the uv protection and doesn’t change the grip of the concrete.
I used this in the barn.

I don't think we are going to stain but it's being considered.

I get densifying for a garage floor, but is it really worth it in this application?

Densifying closes of the pores of the concrete. It makes it physically harder and sets the condition for the 8500 to work well. I used both in the barn. Look over their material and it may be ok. I used the complete system and distilled water for the concentrate. Didn’t want any funny reactions that we read about here. The stuff worked great.
Looking through their material though they do not state the densifier must be used.

Depending upon the amount of rain and beat down from the sun it could be anywhere from 5 to 10 years for a Recoat. Yes just a pressure wash.

Ghostshield would be a great choice for that, we carry it. We also have our ARM8400X clear sealer which works like a champ on pool decks, but is a topical product vs the Ghostshield which is a penetrating product.

Bumping this back up as the concrete is going in soon.

How long do I need to wait to apply ghostshield?

And do I need to tell the crew anything special, like not applying a curing agent?

We would recommend 60 days. Make sure any curing agent is compatible with coatings and sealers, no silicone.

Also take a look at our new Balliatix which there are postings here. This is a new very advanced product that is much more durable than any sealer or Ghostshield.

Your listings on ballistix are confusing. You use "satin" and "semi-gloss" like they are interchangeable, but they aren't. Which is right? I don't think I want any visual change, so this probably isn't the right product for me, but I could maybe be convinced of the performance was there.

What does much more durable mean? Would you expect there would be no need to recoat for something like 20 years on a pool deck with a salt-chlorinated pool? The pricing looks more than double, so it would need to last a long time or have another benefit to justify the jump for me

Hi for no visual change stick with the Ghost Shield which we carry. Life span of either products is in the 5-10 yr range before recoat depending on conditions. Standard dealers maybe 2 years life span. With salt water though the Ballisitix would have 2-3 x life span be anything else but it does give a sheen since it’s topical and not penetrating.

Ballisitx is available in gloss or satin versions.
