Search not working

I've tried several search terms such as SUN, but keep getting the message: Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

There definitely are posts with that word in them.

Am I doing something wrong?

It seems to me that the search must be at least four characters long. For example, I searched for "car" and got no matches. However, "card" returned matches.

Yeah, this needs changed. I just went looking for SAE items and the search returns nothing. There are countless 3 letter words that are relevant here. car, tap, die, SAE, USA, etc.

Had this same problem over at corvetteforum before they figured out terms like LS1, LS7, cam, etc were important. They did fix the issue.

I use google.com advanced search. Use the domain site name search.
You get much better results.

Add a "star" after the three letters. This works on GJ as well as most other sites, I just tried it with car.

It's a default for MySQL's FULLTEXT search... they need to change ft_min_word_len to 3 and rebuild the index.

Very common on all MySQL-based vBulletin forums which use MySQL for full-text search... there are better ways to do it
